Safe Haven Program
The Safe Haven Program ensures student safety through required training and background checks for all staff and volunteers.
Safe Haven Program for Child & Youth Protection
Sacred Heart holds the protection of our children and vulnerable adults of utmost importance. All volunteers at our school and parish must take classes and submit background checks to ensure the safety of all. We adhere and follow the protocols of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
The Archdiocese has implemented the new Safe Haven program to educate clergy, staff and volunteers about ways to create a safe environment for all children and teens. The program trains adults to recognize the warning signs and how to respond appropriately.
All volunteers, staff and clergy over the age 18 are required to complete the training program. In addition, a background check will be conducted prior to volunteering or employment.
If you have trouble registering or have questions please contact the school office at 936.756.3848 and we will help you.
