Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
The PTO supports our school through events, volunteering, and building a strong, connected community.
What is PTO?
The Sacred Heart School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a network of parents who are actively involved in supporting the school by providing assistance for fundraisers and special events at school. The purpose of this organization is:
- To promote communication and a spirit of friendship and cooperation among the administration, teachers, school board and parents.
- To organize volunteers for all PTO Standing Committees, other volunteer programs and all fundraising projects.
Why Get Involved?
Every parent is encouraged to become involved in the PTO and to actively work to empower this organization to be a tremendous success and asset to the school. The PTO relys on dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers throughout the year to run numerous events. Parents volunteer their time to serve as room parents, assist with book fairs, sponsor staff appreciation events, Christmas gifts and birthday recognition for teachers and staff.
In addition, each year the PTO sponsors and organizes the fall fundraiser, Oktoberfest. The Oktoberfest funds provide significant financial support to the school. In the past, the PTO has been able to purchase items such as playground equipment, hardware and software for the library automation, educational software, cafeteria equipment and sports equipment.
