Proposing Agenda Items for School Board Meetings
The school board president and the principal prepare the agenda prior to the board meeting. Any parent or teacher may propose items for addition to the agenda. Proposed agenda items should be submitted to the president or the principal not later than 7 days prior to the meeting. Agenda items must relate to an area within the scope of the board -- for example, Catholic identity, development/planning, marketing/public relations, school policies, etc.
The president and principal will consider the proposed item and confirm whether it will be added to the agenda. The president or principal will also advise if the proposed item relates to an area outside the scope of the school board (e.g., curriculum, discipline, personnel, etc.). Such issues will not be added to the school board agenda; rather, they should first be brought up with the person responsible and then with the principal if a satisfactory resolution is not reached with the first party. Any questions regarding school board meetings may be directed to the principal or to any member of the board.
